No. 24 Western comes to town at 6-1 in non-conference play. The Bulldogs won four straight before dropping an exhibition game to NCAA Division II Adams state last time out. Dillon native Brynley Fitzgerald averages 16.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game to lead Western.

Senior forward Brooke Heggie’s 12.7 points per game leads the 6-4 Orediggers into league play. Sophomore Tavia Rooney averages a tick under a double-double with 10.9 points and 9.8 rebounds.

Men’s college basketball

The nightcap features a pair of teams off to an impressive start to the season.

Western rolls to town at 9-3, and Max Clark averages 17.2 points per game to lead the Bulldogs. Jalen Hodges adds 13.6 points to the Western lineup.

The 7-3 Orediggers received votes in Wednesday’s NAIA Top 25 poll. Montana State transfer Caleb Bellach and senior Taylor England each average 13.9 points per game to lead Tech. England, the reigning Frontier Conference Player of the Week, also averages 6.6 rebounds.

Electrifying senior Sindou Diallo makes it three Orediggers in double figures scoring with 12.4 points per game.
