Prep boys’ basketball
Butte Central at Anaconda, 6 p.m.
After a 2-0 performance at the BC Tip-Off Tournament last week, the Maroons head to the Snake Pit for the non-conference game. Anaconda is 1-1. Last time out, Braxton Hill tossed in 26 points as the Class B Copperheads beat Columbia Falls 67-57. Sean Gallagher scored 18, while Caleb Stetzner scored 15. Cole Harper scored 17 points, and Tanner Kump netted 13 to lead the Maroons in Saturday’s 53-46 win over Lewistown. Nate McGree scored 20 points and Harper tossed in 18 the night before in a 58-54 overtime win over Laurel.
Butte High at Missoula Big Sky, 7:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs (0-3) hit the road looking for their first win of the season in the non-conference game. The Eagles are 1-1. Jake Tabish scored 16 points Saturday to lead Big Sky in a 61-48 loss at Billings Skyview. Ryson Lovshin hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points to pace the Bulldogs in Tuesday’s 55-43 loss to Missoula Hellgate. Post player Brock Powell scored 13 points.
Prep girls’ basketball
Butte Central at Anaconda, 7:30 p.m.
The Maroons look to make it 3-0 as they take on the Copperheads. Anaconda is 0-2 after losses to Bigfork and Columbia Falls last week in Missoula. Mollie Peoples scored 48 points in two games as the Maroons rolled past Laurel and Lewistown in their Tip-Off Tournament. She scored 25 in Saturday’s 61-36 rout of Lewistown. Emily St. John has 31 points through two games, including 20 in Friday’s 59-50 downing of Laurel.
Missoula Big Sky at Butte High, 7:30 p.m.
The Civic Center will be the site as the Bulldogs (0-3) take on the Eagles in the non-conference game. Big Sky is 1-1 after a weekend road trip to Billings. McKenna Arledge scored 17 points to lead Big Sky in a 53-52 overtime win over Senior on Friday. Anna Gragg’s 15 points paced Big Sky in Saturday’s 38-35 loss at Skyview. Freshman Ally Cleverly has led the Bulldogs in scoring in Butte High’s first three games. She scored 13 points in Tuesday’s 45-28 loss at Missoula Hellgate.
College men’s basketball
Montana Tech vs. Arizona Christian in Chandler, Arizona, 7 p.m.
The Orediggers will see their first action since Dec. 5 when they hit the road for the non-conference Chandler-Gilbert Classic. The Orediggers play Benedictine University Friday before closing with William Jessup on Saturday.
