Butte High at Class AA State meet in Billings, 10 a.m.
The Butte High boys’ and girls’ teams head to the Lake Hills Golf Course looking to bring home a trophy. That could be possible if the Bulldogs put it all together at the right time.
Junior Isaiah Weldon is coming off a second-place finish at the Bozeman Invitational last week. He will be joined on the Bulldog boys’ lineup by seniors Houston Green and Marcus Lynch, junior Will Hogland and freshman Kaven Noctor.
Senior Lexi Nelson leads the Bulldog girls into action. She’ll be playing her fourth state meet. Junior Kelliann Neary has been playing well for the Bulldogs as of late. Butte High is also hoping for good things from junior Sadie Starcevich, senior Katelyn Alley and freshman Grace Luoma.
Great Falls Russell at Butte High
Great Falls Russell will be at the Jeremy Bullock Complex as the Rustlers and Bulldogs look to finish some unfinished business. The girls play at 3 p.m., while the boys’ match is set for 5.
Both matches ended in a tie when the teams met Sept. 1 in Great Falls.
The Butte High boys (5-2-2 overall, 4-1-2 Eastern AA) are coming off Saturday’s 5-1 home win over Billings Skyview. Brandon Quinn and Nick Werkmeister each scored a pair of goals in that win.
Butte High’s girls (0-8-1, 0-6-1) are gunning for their first win of the season.
Butte High at Bozeman, 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs will see their first action since picking up their first win of the season last Thursday, a five-set victory in Dillon.
Senior Abby Dodge pounded 17 kills and served five aces to lead the Bulldogs in the win. Keeley Pochervina collected 21 digs in the win, and Sam Krzan and Bethanney McMahon combined to dish out 31 assists.
MSU-Northern at Montana Tech, 7 p.m.
The Orediggers (1-3 Frontier, 9-7 overall) will play their first home match in more than two weeks when the Skylights (2-2, 3-10) come to the HPER Complex.
Last week, Tech went on the road to beat Montana Western and fall to Rocky Mountain College. Both matches went four sets. Northern, whose lineup includes Butte High graduate Hannah Amtmann, beat Great Falls at home before falling at Carroll College.
