It’s Thursday Night Lights for Butte High football

The Butte High Bulldogs’ football schedule has never looked like this before.

The school released its fall sports schedules today, and the Bulldogs play five of their 10 football games on a Thursday night. First up is the season opener, which is Thursday, Aug. 24 at Kalispell Flathead.

The following week, the Bulldogs play on Thursday at Missoula Hellgate before playing their first home game on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Naranche Stadium.

The home opener is the lone home Thursday game for the Bulldogs. Butte High will also play on Thursday, Sept. 21 at Missoula Sentinel and Thursday, Oct. 19 at Billings Skyview.

The Purple and White Game and Butte Athletic Council’s barbecue will also be held on a Thursday, Aug. 17.

The Bulldogs will celebrate Silver B’s Night on Friday, Sept. 15 against Bozeman. Homecoming is Friday, Sept. 29 against Billings Senior.

Butte High’s volleyball team opens the season Aug. 29 at Missoula Sentinel. The Bulldogs’ first home match isn’t until Sept. 12 when Butte High hosts Great Falls High.

The Bulldog soccer teams open Aug. 26 at the Great Falls Jamboree. The Butte High teams play their first games that count Aug. 31 at home against Great Falls Russell.

The varsity Butte High golf teams open the season Aug. 14 at the Great Falls Invitational. Their first home meet is Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at Fairmont Hot Springs.

Fairmont’s golf course is also the site of the season-opening meet for the Butte High cross country team. The Bulldogs will run there in the Aug. 29 Butte Central Invitational.

The Butte Invitational is set for Sept. 23 at the Highland View Golf Course.
