HAVRE — Butte Central sent three Maroons to the Havre Invitational Wrestling Tournament, which concluded Saturday.

Sophomore Ian Williams led the way, placing fifth in the 205-pound division in Saturday’s tournament round.

Williams pinned Ryker Elverud of Chester/Joplin/Inverness in 1 minute, 24 seconds in the fifth-place match.

At 113 pounds, Gunnar Yelenich picked up a win in the consolation bracket before bowing out of the tournament. Fellow freshman Brayden Keane went 0-2 at 126 pounds.

In Friday’s round-robin competition, Yelenich and Keane both placed third in their weight class.

Senior Clay Fisher and sophomore Cale Stillwagon did not compete this weekend.

The Maroons are back in action Thursday when they host the BC Mixer at the Maroon Activities Center.
