Three Forks’ Shainy Mack signs with Western women

DILLON — University of Montana Western head women’s basketball coach Lindsay Woolley announced Monday that Three Forks star Shainy Mack has signed an NAIA National Letter of Intent to play for the Bulldogs.

Mack is a 5-foot-8 guard who will graduate from Three Forks High School this spring. She led the Wolves to an undefeated season and the Class B State championship last season.

For her career, Mack has scored nearly 1,500 points, averaging 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. She is a four-time first-team all-conference selection and a three-time All-State selection.

“Shainy was one of our top targets last year so we were very excited when she called us and told us she wanted to play,” Woolley said. “She has a very high IQ, has a nose for the ball, and is an excellent shooter with good size. She is also a tremendous student and a perfect fit for our program.”

Mack was named the Gallatin Valley Basketball Player of the Year and the Bozeman Daily Chronicle Female Basketball Player of the Year as a junior.

Mack is a three-sport athlete who will earn 12 varsity letters. She is a three-time first-team all-conference and a two-time all-state selection in volleyball. She is a four-time all-conference, three-time all-state selection and won two state championships in golf.

Mack, a perennial Academic All-State selection, is the daughter of Bill and Laurie Mack. She plans on majoring in business administration at Montana Western.
