BOZEMAN — Three Butte golfers qualified for the Montana State Junior Championships at the Polson Bay Golf Course.
Tricia Joyce, Kaven Noctor and Jack Prigge will all move from Monday’s cold, windy District 3 Qualifier at the Riverside Country Club.
The top four players in each age group qualify for the Championship, which is next Monday and Tuesday. There, players have the chance to qualify for the Boys’ and Girls’ Junior Americas Cup, and Montana Alberta Cup teams.
Joyce and Noctor each placed third in the 16-18 age group, while Prigge placed second in the 13-and-under-group.
Joyce, who played in the Junior Americas Cup and Montana Alberta Cup last year, shot a 76 for third in the girls’ 16-18 group.
Future Weber State golfer Kameryn Basye of Bozeman won the division with an even-par 71. Fellow Bozeman golfer Annika Danenhauer placed second at 75. Laurel Ward, the 2017 Montana Class AA state champion, placed fourth at 82.
Noctor shot an 83 to qualify. Bozeman’s J.R. Small won the group at 74. Jack Thorsen of Bozeman finished second at 76.
Prigge is moving on after shooting an 85. That was two shots off the pace of Aubrey Kelley of Emigrant.
Cora Rosanova of Bozeman won the girls’ 14-15 competition with a score of 79.
The top four boys in the 14-15 division will all be playing for Bozeman High School in the fall. Justus Verge won with a score of 75. Close behind was his brother, Jordan Verge at 76 and Ramey Lloyd at 78.
