BILLINGS — Butte Central graduate Kloie Thatcher poured in 18 points to lead Rocky Mountain College to a 59-55 Frontier Conference win over Montana Tech Saturday afternoon at the Fortin Center. (Stats)
Thatcher buried three 3-pointers as Rocky improved to 2-0 in league play and 7-1 overall. N’Dea Flye scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. She also collected five steals in the win.
Shauna Bribies added 11 points and four steals for the Battlin’ Bears.
Rocky jumped out to a 22-7 lead in the first quarter and took a 32-18 advantage into halftime. Tech outscored the Battlin’ Bears 37-27 in the second half.
Tavia Rooney’s 14 points and nine rebounds led the Orediggers (0-2, 6-6), who were playing without injured Brooke Heggie. Dani Urick scored 11 points, while Soda Rice came off the bench to score nine.
McKayla Kloker and Nia Faletoi each scored eight points for Tech. Faletoi also grabbed nine rebounds. Also for Tech, Mollie Peoples scored four points, and Megan Delaney tossed in one.
The Orediggers will play at Dickinson State next Saturday. Tech’s next Frontier Conference game is Jan. 6 at Carroll College.
