Thatcher scores 12 as Rocky grounds Argos

BILLINGS — Alecia Chamberlin’s 20 points and 11 rebounds led Rocky Mountain College’s women’s basketball team to a 67-60 win over the University of Providence Saturday at the Fortin Education Center. (Stats)

True freshman Kloie Thatcher, a Butte Central graduate, matched a season high with 12 points in the Rocky win. She also collected five steals and dished out a pair of assists.

Thatcher also scored 12 points in wins over Yellowstone Christian and Dickinson State. She scored two points in Thursday’s home win over MSU-Northern.

Marissa Van Atta scored 11 points, and Markaela Francis tossed in 10 for Rocky, which improved to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the Frontier Conference.

Behind Jenna Randich scored 21 points to lead the Argos.

Next up for the Battlin’ Bears is Friday’s exhibition game against MSU-Billings. Rocky will come to Butte to play Montana Tech Jan. 5 and Feb. 22.
