The Mining City Tommyknockers added a starting pitcher.
Jon Cordaway, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound right hander from Tarleton State signed with the Tommyknockers, the team announced today.
Cordaway pitched for Oak Ridge High in the Houston suburb of Spring, Texas. He was named second-team All-District. He also played a year of select ball for C2 baseball.
“Jon comes from a strong pitching development program,” Tommyknockers manager Tom Carty said in a statement. “He brings a big physical right-handed presence on the mound. He has a big-time pro arm.”
The Tommyknockers, an expansion team in the Expedition League, will play their first season at 3 Legends Stadium this summer.
