Tech’s Woods wins flight at Women’s State Am

BILLINGS — Soon-to-be Montana Tech freshman Emma Woods of Fairfield won her flight Saturday at the Montana State Women’s Amateur Championships at Lake Hills Golf Course. (Results)

Woods shot a 78 for a 237 total to win the Championship B Flight. She topped Bozeman’s Hannah Rosanova by two shots.

Woods hit 77 and 82 over the first to rounds of the three-day tournament.

Bzeman’s Kameryn Basye went wire to wire for the win. She hit a final round 77 for a 222 to edge Bozeman’s Samantha Yates by one shot. Yates shot a 73 Saturday.

Butte High graduate Kodie Hoagland, another future Oredigger, had her best round of the tournament Saturday. She hit an 80 for a 250 total and fourth place in Flight 1A.

Cierra Sundheim of Tech hot an 82 on the final round. Other Tech players were Samantha Moore, Sami Benson, Franchi Ceartin, Kennedy Lean and Emily Kelly.
