Tech’s Sullivan ties for sixth

Montana Tech golfer Dublin Sullivan tied for sixth place at the Montana Tech Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at the Butte Country Club.

Sullivan shot a final round 79 for a 54-hole total of 221. That tied Joseph McAulay, James Walkinshaw and Isaiah Ojeda of Lewis-Clark State for sixth.

Daniel Thompsett of Rocky Mountain College and Cam Howe of Westminster College tied for medalist honors 213. Howe fired a 4-under 66 in the final round. Thompson shot 70.

First-day leader Chris Lien of Lewis-Clark State finished one shot back after a final-round 73.

Westminster College took home the team title with an 873 after a final-round 281. The Griffins beat L-C State by one shot. ¬†Rocky placed third at 887, followed by Carroll College at 891 and Montana Tech at 933. Men’s results

Colin Gunstream placed fifth to lead Carroll at 219.

Montana Tech’s Sean Ryan tied for 12th at 224. Teammate David Starcevich tied for 27th at 234, while Carson Brown placed 32nd at 240.

Westminster College won the women’s title with a 645 over 36 holes. L-C State placed second at 665, followed by Carroll at 681 and Rocky at 698.

Mari Hutsi of Westminster won medalist honors at 147.
