Butte High grad Hailey Nielson places 55th in field of 338
VANCOUVER, Wash. — Montana Tech senior Becca Richtman posted a fourth-place finish today at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships.
Richtman’s run highlighted a strong day for the Oredigger women’s team, which placed 11th out of 36 teams. The Orediggers scored 417 points with an average time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds on the 5-kilometer course. (Results)
Carroll College placed 16th with 467 points and an average time of 19:48. Milligan won the team title with 122 points and an 18:48 average.
Richtman finished the race in 18:23. Alyssa Bearzi of Milligan won in 18:14. She was followed by Sydney Little Light of Rocky Mountain College in 18:16 and Breanna Alderton of Brescia in 18:22.
Tech freshman Hailey Nielson, a Butte High graduate, finished in 19:15 to place 55th in a field of 338 runners. Oredigger sophomore Averi Parker finished in 19:40 to place 103rd.
Also running for the Orediggers were Carlin Manning (20:07), Lexi LaDoux (20:50), Karolyna Buck (20:47) and Madison Kelly (21:09).
