BROOKINGS, S.D. — Montana Tech senior Becca Richtman will be very busy Saturday at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Richtman will run in the finals in the 1 mile, the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters on the final day of competition.
On Friday, the Tech star qualified in the mile and 3,000. She previously qualified for the 5,000 on Thursday.
Richtman finished the 3,000-meter preliminary race in 10 minutes, 16.26 seconds. She qualified sixth overall. Avery DeWolf Burton of Milligan ran the fastest time in 10:09.27.
In the mile, Richtman qualified fifth at 5:01.55. Andrea Ertz of Mount Mercy posted the top time in 5:00.75.
Oredigger freshman Hailey Nielson, a Butte High graduate, finished the 3,000 in 10:31.96. That was good for 16th overall in the prelim, but it did not qualify her for the finals.
Another Tech freshman, Natylia Jacobson, finished the 60-yard dash in 7.71 seconds, which was 17th overall. She did not qualify for the finals.
