SPEARFISH, S.D. — Montana Tech runners competed in a track meet for the first time Saturday, and two Orediggers placed second in events at the Stinger Open.
Oredigger Becca Richtman placed second in the 3,000-meter race. She finished with a time of 10 minutes, 3.42 seconds. Xiomara Robinson of host Black Hills State won the race in 9:57.92.
Tech’s Ian Barville placed second in the men’s 1-mile run. He clocked in with a time of 4:27.08. He trailed only Jacob Jensen of Minot State, who win with a time of 4:21.87.
River Sheppard of Tech placed 16th in the race, finishing in 4:43.16. Sheppard also ran the 3,000, placing 15th in 9:46.67.
