Montana Tech’s Chris O’Neill was named a preseason All-Conference player.

The Oredigger senior guard was the lone Tech player — men or women — recognized as the Frontier Conference released the Preseason All-Conference team today.

Coaches voted on the team. They were not allowed to vote for their own players.

O’Neill is a 6-foot senior guard who averaged a team-best 13.3 points and 6.3 assists per game last season, his first in the Mining City.

This year, O’Neill will be tasked with leading a revamped Montana Tech roster. The Orediggers open the season Oct. 27 at home against Yellowstone Christian College.

The league coaches picked Montana Western senior guard Dom Robinson as the Preseason Men’s Basketball player of the year.

Western junior Kooper Kidgell joined Robinson on the Preseason All-Conference team.

Senior post/forward Brittany Thackett of Lewis-Clark State was selected as the Preseason Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.

Western junior Britt Cooper was named to the Preseason All-Conference team.
