WHITEFISH — Carter Myers’ big-time performance on Saturday night did not go without recognition.

The Montana Tech senior linebacker was named Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.

The Cody, Wyoming, native led the Oredigger defense in the 35-12 Homecoming victory over then-No. 15 Montana Western Saturday night. The Orediggers held the Bulldogs to just 150 yards of offense and no touchdowns.

Western had been averaging more than 300 yards passing per game.

Myers registered a career-high two sacks and four tackles for a loss. He finished the game with 10 total tackles, eight of which were solo stops. Myers also batted down a pass helping keep pressure on the Western offense.

Montana Tech (4-1) hits the road this week. The Orediggers travel to Caldwell, Idaho, for a rematch with the College of Idaho.
