WHITEFISH — Masha Korol is once again the Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week.
The Montana Tech junior received the honor today, three days after the Orediggers won their sixth straight match.
The No. 15 Orediggers (13-5, 6-0) completed the first half of the Frontier Conference schedule with a 3-1 victory over the visiting University of Providence Argos on Friday.
Korol, a 6-foot-2 outside hitter from Ukrainka, Ukraine, led the Orediggers over the Argos with 11 kills and just three errors and a .308 hitting percentage. In addition to averaging 2.75 kills per set, Korol also had three blocks.
Montana Tech heads to Des Moines, Iowa this weekend for the Grand View Tournament. The Orediggers face four opponents from the Midwest region including No. 11 Grand View. First up is (RV) William Woods (Mo.).
Setter of the Week: Rayna Pilgeram, Carroll College
Pilgeram is a 6-foot senior setter from Helena. Carroll College won its lone match of the week with a 3-0 sweep of Montana Western. Pilgeram averaged 10 assists, four digs and three kills per set.
Tori Chelini of Montana Tech and Natalie Hilderman of Rocky Mountain Colleg were also nominated.
Defender of the Week: Holly Fergurson, Rocky Mountain College
Fergurson is a 5-8 senior libero from Montgomery, Texas. Rocky Mountain College (RV) won its only match of the week with a 3-0 sweep of Lewis-Clark State. Fergurson averaged seven digs per set.
Sabrina Hopcroft of Montana Tech, Dylan Fowler of Montana Western and Madi Quick of Carroll College were also nominated.
