KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced today that Montana Tech’s McKenna Kaelber is the NAIA National Setter of the Week.
This honor is the first national award for Kaelber. The freshman setter has received the Frontier Conference Setter of the Week award four times this season. Kaelber leads the conference in total assists (905) and assists per set (9.3).
Kaelber helped the Orediggers to two victories last week. The Orediggers swept Montana Western and No. 16 Rocky Mountain College.
The Pasco, Washington native averaged 14.5 sets and two digs per set on the weekend. Kaelber posted match totals of 41 assists against Montana Western and 46 against Rocky. Kaelber also had 12 digs, five aces, and four assisted blocks.
Montana Tech finishes the regular season this week. The Orediggers travel to Carroll College Wednesday before finishing at home against Lewis-Clark State on Saturday afternoon.
