WHITEFISH — Derrius Collins of Montana Tech was selected the Frontier Conference’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Collins, a 6-foot-4 sophomore forward from Missoula, helped the Orediggers go 2-0 for the week. Tech picked up a 71-60 Frontier Conference win over Montana Western and a 117-48 non-conference win over the University of Alberta.
Collins averaged 18.5 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. He was 15 of 16 (94 percent) from the field including 5 of 6, 3-point field goals, and 2 of 4 from free throw line.
Cedric Boone of Montana Western, Brandon Cotton of the University of Providence, Adam Huse of MSU-Northern, Race Martin of Lewis-Clark State, Ragen Shein of Rocky Mountain and Dane Warp of Carroll College were also nominated.
