Tech women hand Jimmies second loss

LAS VEGAS — Montana Tech outscored Jamestown College 45-31 Saturday night as the Orediggers won for the sixth time in seven games, beating the Jimmies 72-61.

Mandy Machinal led the way with 25 points. Fellow Oredigger Kelsey DeWit tossed in 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Laini Kalumbi scored 15 points to go along with six rebounds and 5 steals.

The game was part of the Las Vegas Shootout, in which the Orediggers went 2-1. The loss was just the second of the season for the Jimmies, who fell to 13-2.

The Orediggers (8-5), who trailed 30-27 at halftime, jump back into Frontier Conference play Thursday when they play host to Montana Western. Tech is 1-0 in Frontier play.
