Tech women fall at Rocky

BILLINGS — Mikayla Jones scored 14 points to lead Rocky Mountain College players in double figures Saturday, and Battlin’ Bears knocked off Montana Tech 60-52 in a Frontier Conference women’s basketball game at the Fortin Center. (Stats)

Markaela Francis added 12 points, while Justyn Juhl scored 10 for the soon-to-be-ranked Bears, who improved to 4-2 in league play and 14-2 overall.

Kaylynn Coverdell scored 11 points to pace the Orediggers. Freshman Mesa Williams came off the bench to score 10 points.

Tech also got eight points from Hannah Sparks, seven from Kaylee Zard, five from Monica Landdeck, four from Shay Potter and Sammy McGree, and three from Hailey Crawford.

The Orediggers (1-5, 11-7) are on the road for two games next week. They play at The University of Providence Friday in Great Falls. Tech plays MSU-Northern Saturday in Havre.
