Montana Tech’s women’s basketball team released its 2012-13 schedule Wednesday morning.
The Orediggers open at home Oct. 26 at Kelvin Sampson Court at 5:30 p.m. against the South Dakota Tech Hardrockers. That game will open and men’s and women’s doubleheader.
The last time the Lady Diggers faced the Hardrockers was November of 2010 in Rapid City, South Dakota. The Diggers came away with a 74-73 victory.
This season marks head coach Kerie DePell’s sixth season with Montana Tech.
The schedule features 14 home games, and the Orediggers face one Division I opponent when they travel to Montana State on Oct. 29.
The non-conference schedule consists of two tournaments. The Orediggers will participate in the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier Conference Challenge November 9-10 in Spokane, Wash. Over the December Holidays, the Diggers will be in Las Vegas for three games part of the Las Vegas Shootout December 27-29.
Last season, Tech played three non-conference home games. This year, the Orediggers will play six. The non-conference line-up includes a match up with Frontier Conference foe Montana Western on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. In all, the home schedule consists of 14 games.
The schedule features an additional conference match-up this year as Dickinson State entered the Frontier Conference as a full member this year.
The Frontier Conference Tournament is Feb. 26-March 4. All games will be at the highest seeds home location.
