First-year Montana Tech women’s basketball head coach Carly VanDyke announced a second summer basketball camp. The camp dates are July 14-17.
The four-day camp takes place at the HPER Complex on Montana Tech’s campus. Each day has two sessions for different age groups. The morning session, from 9 to 11 a.m., is for girls’ kindergarten through fourth grade and the afternoon session, from 1to 4 p.m., is for girls fifth through eighth grades.
The participants will be taught the basic fundamentals of basketball which include: dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, rebounding and teamwork. Additional camp features included advanced offensive skill training. These skills will be introduced to assist athletes to develop and improve her offensive skills. Athletes will be taught footwork that the top players use at every level.
The camp staff includes head coach Carly VanDyke, assistant coaches Amy Brooks and Kelsey DeWit, and current Montana Tech women’s basketball players.
Campers need to have registration submitted prior to the camp or morning of the first day. Completed forms for the morning session are due between 8:30-9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14. Afternoon campers need to complete registration by 12:30-1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14.
