Tech volleyball season ends with loss to Argos

HELENA — The Montana Tech volleyball season came to an end Friday afternoon with a three-set loss to the University of Great Falls in the first round of the Frontier Conference tournament at the P.E. Center.

The Argos won 25-13, 25-23, 25-22 to advance to Saturday’s semifinal round. Stats

Kelsee Montagna tallied 13 kills, while Madison Wilhelm added 13 to lead the Argos, who improved to 26-9 on the season.

Senior Sydney Norris caped her outstanding Oredigger career with a team-leading 12 kills. Bailie Cortner killed nine, while Karina Mickelson notched seven kills.

Tech also got 27 assists from Makenzie Bauck. Brianna Nabbout collected a team-best eight digs.

The Orediggers, who were ranked as high as No. 20 early in the season, closed the 2015 campaign at 18-12.
