Tech volleyball places eight on academic team

WHITEFISH — Frontier Conference Commissioner Kent Paulson released the 2019 Volleyball Academic All-Conference team today, and eight Montana Tech players made the grade.

Rocky Mountain College led the conference with 11 student-athletes. Montana Tech had the second most on the academic list.

The Orediggers placed five sophomores on the list in Emma Carvo, Portia Cortner, Hudsyn DiBrito, Kiya Loobey, and Sydney Parks. Juniors Karina Mickelson and Kamaile Moody and senior Heather Thompson were the upper classman making the grade.

McKenna Fink, Karen Kale, Talyn Pitcher, Morgan Stenger and Jessica Weber of Montana Western also received the honor.

To be eligible for the team, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing, maintain a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled at the school the previous two semesters.
