KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Montana Tech moved into a tie at No. 21 in the latest 2015 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Orediggers (13-6, 1-1) are tied with Hastings (Nebraska) who Tech lost to earlier this year in five sets at the Five Points Bank Tournament.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions. The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams.
Montana Tech split last weekend. The Orediggers opened the Frontier Conference season in Billings last week against No. 6 Rocky Mountain. The Orediggers took the Battlin’ Bears to four sets before falling short. On Saturday, Tech hosted perennial powerhouse Lewis-Clark State in the home conference opener. The Orediggers shut down the Warriors and sent them home after a 3-0 sweep.
The Orediggers start a month long road campaign this week when they travel to Montana State Northern Thursday.
