Tech spikes Warriors

LEWISTON, Idaho — Talk about a bounce-back win.

Montana Tech made short work out of Lewis-Clark State College Saturday. Two days after a disappointing five-set loss to Carroll College, the NO. 14 Orediggers beat the Warriors 29-27, 25-15, 25-18 in a Frontier Conference match. (Stats)

Masha Korol’s 11 kills paced the Oredigger attack that beat the Warriors 45-37 in that category.

Tech also got nine kills from Haley Druyvestein, seven from Angela Molesworth and six apiece from Heather Thompson and Nicole Peacock.

Tori Chelini (22 assists) and Kamaile Moody (19) ran the Oredigger offense, and Sabrina Hopcroft led the Oredigger backcourt with 17 digs. Peacock added 13 digs, while Gena McMillan added five kills and 11 digs.

Rachel Gregg’s 13 kills paced the Warriors.

Montana Tech improved to 7-1 in league play and 17-7 overall.

The Orediggers hit the road to play Montana Western and Rocky Mountain College next week.
