Tech spikers roll in Great Falls

GREAT FALLS — Montana Tech used a balanced attack Thursday as the Orediggers opened the Frontier Conference season with a sweep of the University of Great Falls.

Sydney Norris smacked nine kills to lead the way as Tech won 25-22, 25-23, 27-25.

Annie Smoot and Bailie Cortner each killed seven, while Haley Druyvestein spiked six. Alison Lunde (18) and Makenzie Bauck (15) combined for 33 assists, and Kimmy Kavran collected 19 digs. Norris also reached double figures in kills with 11.

Madison Wilhelm tallied 12 kills to pace the Argos.

Montana Tech, which received votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, is back in action Saturday when the Orediggers play host to MSU-Northern at 2 p.m. at the HPER Complex.
