Tech spikers pick up four-set win at Western

DILLON — Montana Tech’s volleyball team got a much-needed win Saturday afternoon.

The Orediggers snapped a three-match losing streak by beating Montana Western 25-9, 20-25, 25-15, 25-21 in a Frontier Conference match. Stats

Bailie Cortner pounded 15 kills, while Karina Mickelson spiked 12 to lead the Oredigger attack. Jordan Danz added eight kills and 11 digs, while Sydney Norris spiked six kills to go along with 12 digs.

Brianna Nabbout collected 16 digs, and Makenzie Bauck served up 34 assists.

Joanna Avery’s 11 kills and Brianna DeCock’s 18 digs paced Western.

The win wrapped up a stretch of five straight road matches over three weeks. The Orediggers will play at home next weekend when they welcome Carroll College and the University of Great Falls.
