Tech spikers close tourney with win

LA MIRADA, Calif. — Sydney Norris and Bailie Cortner reached double digits in kills Friday night as the Montana Tech volleyball team concluded the Biola Summer Slam Tournament with a 3-0 win over Westmont College.

The win put the Orediggers at 2-2 on the season.

Norris, who collected 12 digs, tallied 11 kills, while Cortner notched 10 and Korey Krumm killed seven as tech won 25-16, 25-20, 27-25. Box score

Annie Smoot added six kills for the Orediggers, who also got four from Haley Druyvestein. Libero Kimmy Kavran ended the match with 24 digs, and Alison Lunde dished out 21 assists. Sarah McGough killed 10 to lead Westmont, which fell to 0-4.

The Orediggers will play in a tournament in Irvine, California, next week.
