IRVINE, Calif. — Montana Tech worked overtime on the volleyball court Friday at the Asics/Wyndham Labor Day Classic.
Hours after falling in five games to The Master’s College, the Orediggers bounced back to beat La Sierra in four games. Tech won 21-25, 25-13, 25-29, 17-13. Stats
La Sierra, a Seventh-day Adventist school, forfeited because of sun down in the middle of the fourth game.
Bailie Cortner’s 11 kills paced the Orediggers in the win that evened the team’s non-conference record at 3-3. Korey Krumm killed eight, while Haley Druyvestein and Sydney Norris each added six kills. Alison Lunde (18 assists) and Makenzie Bacuk (16) ran the Oredigger attack.
The Orediggers close out the tournament Saturday when they play Concordia (Calif.) and Eastern Oregon.
