Tech men’s golf team adds Missoula Big Sky’s Ellis

Montana Tech head golf coach Sean Ryan announced the signing of Missoula Big Sky senior Hayden Ellis as the second signee for the Oredigger men’s golf program’s class of 2022.

“I am very excited to have Hayden sign to be an Oredigger,” Ryan said. “He is an excellent young man and is a very talented golfer.”

Ellis, a three-time All-State and two-time all-conference golfer for Big Sky, placed 10th at the Class AA State Tournament as a senior and 15th as a junior and sophomore. Ellis placed seventh at the 2020 Western AA Divisional Tournament hosted at the Ranch Club in Missoula firing rounds of 74-74. Ellis posted an impressive 75.4 scoring average in his senior season for the Eagles.

“Hayden had a tremendous high school career earning all-state honors the last three seasons,” Ryan said. “That is a real testament to his dedication and work ethic. I can’t wait to see him compete for the Orediggers.”

Hayden, the son of Brodie and Erin Ellis, plans to major in engineering.
