Montana Tech’s men’s basketball team escaped with a 65-64 Frontier Conference win over MSU-Northern Saturday night at the HPER Complex. (Stats)
However, with Carroll College winning 67-52 at Montana Western, the Orediggers (12-7) are locked into the No. 3 seed heading into the Frontier Conference playoffs.
Tech will play host to Rocky Mountain College (1-14) in a playoff game Thursday night.
First, the Orediggers will close the regular season with one more game against MSU-Northern at 4 p.m. Sunday in Butte.
Sindou Diallo grabbed his own rebound and scored with 49 seconds left to give the Orediggers the win. The Bucket was the last of 12 lead changes, including four in the final 1 minute, 45 seconds.
David Harris got of a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it was blocked by Tech’s Derrius collings.
Diallo scored 19 points to lead the Oredigger, who trailed 31-27 at the half. Drew Huse came off the bench to join Diallo in double figures with 13 points.
The Orediggers also got eight points and three steals from Collins, six points and seven rebounds from Cody Baumstrack, si points from Markieth Brown Jr., five points from Taylor England and Cody Liles, and one point from Bridger Larson.
C.J. Nelson scored 18 points to lead the Lights. Mascio McCadney tossed in 14.
