KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the third Men’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 today. The Montana Tech Orediggers are receiving votes in the first poll of the spring season.
The Orediggers finished second in the regular season to Rocky Mountain. The Battlin’ Bears are the only other Frontier Conference school in the poll landing at No. 17 in the third edition.
The Orediggers received votes in the preseason poll last fall.
The Tech man are currently in 16th in the nation in scoring average.
“It is great to be recognized in the national poll as we get started with our spring season,” Tech coach Sean Ryan said.
Montana Tech starts the spring season next week in Henderson, Nevada at the Rocky Mountain College Intercollegiate. The Orediggers tee off at Reflection Bay for the two-round tournament on March 15-16.
“Now it is up to us to play well against great competition next week and see where we stack up against nationally ranked teams as we get ready for our conference championships in April,” Ryan said.
The Orediggers enter a field at Reflection Bay that features seven teams in the NAIA Top 25 or receiving votes.
