Tech leads Frontier in academic honors

Fisher, McCarthy, Schlute, McGree make the grade

WHITEFISH — For the third straight year, Montana Tech led the conference in selections to the Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference football team.

Frontier Commissioner Kent Paulson released the 2020-21 team today, and the Orediggers saw 45 players receive honor.

To be eligible for the team, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing and maintain a 3.25 GPA. This GPA requirement increased this year. The previous GPA required to make the team was 3.0.

Orediggers to make the team include Butte Central graduate Clay Fisher and Butte High grad Kale McCarthy. Butte Central graduates Kyle Schulte, at Montana Western, and Nate McGree, at Carroll College, also earned the academic honor.
