Tech golfers improve on Day 2 of State Am

BILLINGS — Seven of the eight current or future Montana Tech golfers improved their scores Friday during Day 2 of the Montana State Women’s Amateur Championship.

The one Tech player who did not have a better score on Day 2 is leading her flight.

Incoming Tech freshman Emma Woods of Fairfield leads the Championship B Flight at 159 heading into Saturday’s final round at the Lake Hills Golf Course. Woods followed Thursday’s 77 with an 82. (Leaderboard)

Bozeman golfer Kameryn Basye extended her lead, improving one shot for a 72. At 1145, she has a five shot lead over Bozeman’s Jordan Briggs and Samantha Yates.

Soon-to-be Tech freshman Kodie Hoagland of Butte improved four shots for an 83. At 170, she sits in fourth place in Flight 1 A. Teammate and fellow Butte High graduate Emily Kelly improved two shots for an 85 and a 172. She is tied for fifth in the same flight.

Oredigger Cierra Sundhem improved six shots for an 83. Sami Benson followed a 90 with an 87, Samantha Moore improved four shots for a 90, Franchi Ceartin improved eight shots for an 89, and Kennedy Lee got four shots better for a 94.
