CLARKSTON, Wash. — Montana Tech’s men’s golf team finished in fourth place at the two-day Warrior Spring Invitational at the Clarkston Golf & Country Club.
Tech’s women’s team placed fifth in the tournament that wrapped up on Tuesday.
Northwest Nazarene followed a first-round 314 for a 286 and a 600 total score to take the men’s title. Lewis-Clark State finished second at 607. Rocky Mountain College finished third at 630, and the Orediggers shot a 634. Tech improved 18 shots Tuesday for a 308.
Carlos Davila fired a 6-under-par 66 for a 2-under 142 to claim men’s medalist honors. Isaac Emerson of Northwest Nazarene placed second at 147. Northwest Nazreen’s Greyson Giboney was third at 148.
Montana Tech’s Jace Rhodes improved four shots for a 74 to tie finish in a three-way tie for fourth place at 152. He tied with Tyler Joplin of Northwest Nazarene and Schaefer Paladichuk of Rocky.
Oredigger Isaiah Weldon improved four shots for a 78 and a 160 for the Orediggers. Brady Cady and Jhett Braley tied for 20th at 161. Braley carded a 73 on the final round.
Also for Tech, Trey Hoagland improved 10 shots for a 76 and a 162.
Northwest Nazarene also took the women’s title, following a 325 with a 329 and a 654 total. L-C Stat’s A and B teams placed second at third at 655 and 688, and the College of Idaho took fourth at 716. Tech followed Monday’s 374 with a 364 for a 738 total.
Lauren Hamm of L-C State ran away with women’s medalist honors. She followed a 77 with a 73 for a 150. Claire Wright of Rocky placed second at 157.
Emily Kelly led the Orediggers, improving two shots for an 88 and a 178 total. She tied for 21st place. Oredigger Emily Garden improved seven shots for an 87 and a 181. Tanna Campbell of Tech shot a 91 for a 186.
Next up for the Orediggers is a tournament hosted by Arizona Christian University March 28-30 in Glendale, Arizona.
