SWMJGT Championship today at Old Works

It all comes down to this for the members of the South West Montana Junior Golf Tour.

The Tour Championship will take place Monday at the Old Works in Anaconda. Play is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. in the seventh and final tournament of the season.

A handful of Butte golfers are sitting on top of their age group standings or within striking distance of the overall title.

Hailey Hoagland and Shealyn Hafer are sitting 1-2 in the Stacie Lewis Division for girls 16-17. Hoagland, though, won’t compete in the Tour finale because she is representing Montana in the Alberta-Montana Junior Ryder Cup at the Lethbridge Country Club.

That leave’s Helena’s Tori McHugh and Butte’s Hailey Ogolin as the top competition on Monday.

Butte’s Alexis Williams is tied with Frenchtown’s Jamie McNally for the lead of the Paula Creamer Division for girls 14-15. Butte golfer Tricia Joyce has a stranglehold on the Cristie Kerr Division for girls 12-13.

Anaconda’s Jackson Wagner leads the Tiger Woods Division for boys 16-17, while Houston Green of Butte sits atop the Brandt Snedeker Division for boys 14-15.

Caleb Stetzner isn’t near the top of the Snedeker standings because he hasn’t played every tournament, but the Anaconda golfer is the hottest player heading into the tournament. Stetzner fired a 66 to win the Anaconda Challenge last week at the Anaconda Country Club.

Butte golfers Tyge Yelenich and Isaiah Weldon enter the final tournament in a tie for first place in the Steve Stricker Division for boys 12-13.
