Sundberg, Kaluza, Minnehan, Foleys chalk up Irish victories

Don Sundberg, Susan Kaluza, Lisa Minnehan and Don, Sean and Brenna Foley were overall winners at the annual An Ri Ra Irish Festival race Saturday in Butte.

Sundberg, 63, won the men’s overall title in the 5-kilometer race. He finished with a time of 2 minutes, 20.79 seconds. Matthew Albrecht, 21, placed second at 22:23.97.

Kaluza, 56, was the winner among women in the 5K. She finished in 23:21. Rosie Real, 16, placed second at 24:27.

Don Foley, 43, won the overall title in the 10K, finishing in 40:02.10 to narrowly beat Joe Anderson, 26. Anderson crossed in 40:02.25.

Lisa Minnehan, 29, topped the women’s field in the 10K. She finished in 41:29. Sky Miner, 25, placed second in 43:26.

In the 1-mile race, East Middle School eighth grader Sean Foley, 13, topped the field by more than a minute. He won with a time of 7:38. Logan Carden, 7, placed second among male runners in 8:45.

Brenna Foley, 11, who is a sixth grader at Kennedy Elementary, bested the female field with a time of 9:56. Wendy Wadas, 37, placed second among women at 10:25.
