Subvarsity hoops roundup: Butte High girls

Following is a round up of Butte High’s girls’ basketball subvarsity games. The Bulldogs played Saturday at home against Missoula Sentinel. The Bulldogs played Tuesday at Helena Capital before hosting Helena High on Thursday.

Butte High freshman 45, Missoula Sentinel 17
Bulldog Dylann Bartoletti poured in 17 points, and Shelby Byrnes scored 10 points in a performance that earned her Junkyard Dog honors.

Gracie Ferriter scored eight points, while Murphy Sullivan and Ashlinn Mullaney tossed in four. Ferriter and Sullivan were recognized for great teamwork and hustle.

Missoula Sentinel sophomores 33, Butte High sophomores 27
Peyton Size came up big to score 17 points to lead the Spartans in the win. She scored seven points in the first quarter as Sentinel built a 11-0 lead.

Sonya Trudnowski earned Junkyard Dog honors after scoring 12 points to lead the Bullogs. Ashlee Lee, Taylor Drakos and Kandel Kovnesky were cited for their great effort.

HELENA — The Bulldogs outscored the Bruins 11-4 in the fourth quarter to break open a game that was tied at 25 after three quarters.

Gracie Ferriter tallied 15 points for the Bulldogs. She drilled three 3-pointers.

Ashlinn Mullaney was named Junkyard Dog of the game, and Ferriter and Dylann Bartoletti displayed great guard play. Madisyn Swanson was a beast on the boards.

HELENA — Riley Chandler’s 16 points pace the Bruins, who outscored Butte 16-8 in the fourth quarter. Teyana Lintner added 10 points in the win.

Ashby Lee shot 9 for 10 from the free throw line on her way to a 21-point performance to lead the Bulldogs.

Catherine Sholey took home Junkyard Dog honors, and Jaycee Cleveland and Kenzie Jaksha were recognized for their hustle.

Payton Clary scored 12 points in her one quarter of play to lead the Bulldogs Rian Ferriter tossed in 10.

Brooke Groesbeck took home Junkyard Dog honors after a great rebounding game. Abby Mellott and Olivia Spear were recognized for their effort.

The entire freshman team shares the Junkyard Dog award for working overtime in a victory.

Butte High outscored the Bengals 8-4 in overtime to capture the win. Ashlinn Mullaney scored 13 points to lead the way. She was one of eight Bulldogs to score points in the win.

Sidney Whitaker, Murphy Sullivan and Shelbie Byrnes were cited for being great leaders and contributing in all phases of the game.

Brityn Stewart netted 16 points, and the Bulldogs held on for the victory.

Elli Quist scored seven points and took home Junkyard Dog of the game. Stewart and Taylor Bushman were praised for their great leadership and poise in the nail-biting win. Brooke Groesbeck and Kiahna Wetzel did a great job rebounding, and Maddi Jonart was recognized for her effort all game.
