Stiffarm, Robinson, Bertsch take home Frontier volleyball honors

Players from Rocky Mountain College and Lewis-Clark State were named the Frontier Conference Volleyball Players of the Week, the league announced today.

Attacker of the Week: Mariah Stiffarm, Rocky Mountain College, is a 6-foot-3 senior middle blocker from Billings, Mont. Fifth ranked Rocky went 5-0 at the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge tournament. The Bears beat No. 6 Eastern Oregon 3-1, No. 8 Vanguard 3-1, No. 14 College of Idaho 3-0, Pacific Union 3-0 and Corban University 3-0. Stiffarm averaged 3.53 kills with a .413 attack percentage. Also nominated and listed in alphabetical order: Devan Bogart of the University of Great Falls, Bailie Cortner of Montana Tech, Treneisha Doyle of Lewis-Clark State, Cassie Krueger of MSU-Northern, Cady Siemion of Montana Western and Crystal Schmidt of Carroll College.

Defender of the Week: Russia Robinson, Lewis-Clark State, is a 5-foot-2 senior libero from Hemet, Calif. Lewis-Clark went 3-0 at their Red Lion Classic. The Warriors beat Northwest College (RV) 3-0, Evergreen College 3-0 and Saint Francis (Ind.) 3-0. Robinson averaged averaged 5.8 digs per set. She committed just one reception error. Also nominated and listed in alphabetical order: Dylan Fowler of Montana Western, Brooke Myers of Rocky Mountain College, Rebecca Sweeney of Carroll College, Jacy Vining of MSU-Northern and Madison Wilhelm of the University of Great Falls.

Setter of the Week: Tori Bertsch, Rocky Mountain College, is a 5-foot-11 senior setter from Post Falls, Idaho. Fifth ranked Rocky went 5-0 at the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge tournament. The Bears beat No. 6 Eastern Oregon 3-1, No. 8 Vanguard 3-1, No. 14 College of Idaho 3-0, Pacific Union 3-0 and Corban University 3-0. Bertsch averaged 10.24 assists, 2.29 digs, 1.06 kills with a .385 hitting percentage. Also nominated, listed in alphabetical order: Bree Davis of the University of Great Falls, Jonni Dorr of Carroll College, Callie Hanson of Montana Western, Bauck Makenzie of Montana Tech, Emily Russell of MSU-Northern and Darby Santos of Lewis-Clark State.
