Stevensville post player commits to Lady Griz

MISSOULA (AP) — Two-time Class A all-state post player Alycia Sims of Stevensville has committed to playing basketball at the University of Montana.

Sims told the Missoulian (http://bit.ly/Ttyog4) she chose Montana after taking all five official visits allowed by the NCAA. The 6-foot-3 senior says she had been contacted by more than 50 programs and also visited Idaho State, Boise State, Wyoming and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Sims says her decision came down to being close to home and family.

Sims, who has averaged 17.3 points per game at Stevensville, can sign with Montana during the early signing period, which runs from Nov. 14-21.

Coaches cannot comment on recruits until they are signed.
