Stenson, Gurnsey, Rosenleaf star at Dahlberg banquet

A packed Butte Civic Center enjoyed fine dining and celebrated Butte High athletes Wednesday evening as the crowd gathered for the annual Butte Athletic Council Swede Dahlberg Awards Banquet.
Multisport standouts Jace Stenson, Cameron Gurnsey and Laura Rosenleaf took home the top awards. Stenson and Gurnsey shared the Harry “Swede” Dahlberg Outstanding Boy Athlete award while Rosenleaf won the Outstanding Girl Athlete honor.
Both Stenson were starters on the football and boys’ basketball teams and garnered postseason accolades. Stenson was a two-year starter at quarterback, a two-year starter at wing in basketball and was a thrower on the track team. He will play football for Montana Tech.
Gurnsey was a three-year starting receiver in football, two-year starter in basketball as a wing with exciting dunking ability and qualified for the state AA track meet in the high jump. He will continue his athletics and studies as a football player at the University of Montana.
