Spots remain for 3-on-3 boys’ basketball league

The deadline for the Rock League 3-on-3 youth boys’ basketball league has been extended until Monday.

The third-fourth grade league is full, but two spots remain in the first-second grade league. (Registration form)

The Rock League will run on five Sunday afternoons from Oct. 16 through Nov. 13. Games will be played between 2 and 4 p.m. at the Maroon Activities Center.

The younger league will play on 8-foot rims, and all games will be limited to 25 minutes.

The league will be open to players from all over the city. Players from all schools are welcome

Butte Central boys’ basketball coach Brodie Kelly is the founder of the league. He says the purpose of the 3-on-3 league is to simplify the game for the young players, adding that 3-on-3 basketball is a great way to learn fundamentals and it makes sure every player handles the ball.

Each team will form on its own, and each team must have a coach and four players. Coaches must register each team, and coaches will organize their own practices.

Cost is $200 per team, and each league will be limited to the first eight paid entries. T-shirts will be provided for each team.
