Southern Oregon hits road for NAIA quarterfinals

ASHLAND, Ore. — Frontier Conference champion Southern Oregon rolled to a 55-24 win over Dickinson State in the first round of the NAIA playoffs Saturday. (Stats)

Next up for the 11-0 Raiders is a road trip. Southern Oregon will play 11-0 Lindsey Wilson in Columbia, Kentucky. Lindsey Wilson beat Southeastern (Florida) 63-49 on Saturday. (Stats)

Tanner Trosin completed 30 of 42 passes for four touchdowns as the Raiders sent the Blue Hawks home, marking the third straight year Dickinson State ended its season with a first-round loss to the Frontier Conference champion.

Montana Tech beat Dickinson State in the first round the past two seasons in Butte.

Running back Rey Vega caught a pair of TD passes for SOU. Jordan Suell and Dominic Giampaoli also hauled in a score.

Hayden Gibson passed for 201 yards and two touchdowns for Dickinson. He was picked off twice.
