FRENCHTOWN — Sadie Smith was too much for the Butte Central softball team Friday night.
The Frenchtown senior struck out 11 batters as the Broncs beat the Maroons 11-1 in a Southwestern A game. The game was BC’s only conference contest of their four-game appearance in a tournament hosted by Frenchtown.
The game was called after five innings by the 10-run rule.
Smith gave up just one hit — a home run by BC junior Brooke Badovinac. Smith also went 3 for 4 with a double to lead Frenchtown’s 14 hit attack.
Abby Fahlhaber went 4 for 4 with a two doubles, and Juna Ashby blasted two doubles for the Broncs. Cassidy Bagnell and Alexis Godin also doubled in the win.
The Maroons will play two more games on Saturday. BC takes on Libby at noon before closing the tournament against Mission at 4 p.m.
