Slow start sinks Tech men in Day 2 of tourney

LEWISTON, Idaho — Montana Tech couldn’t overcome a slow start Saturday, and the Orediggers’ men’s basketball team fell 62-46 to the College of Idaho at the Clearwater River Casino & Lounge Tournament. Stats

The Coyotes outscored Tech 28-10 in the first half. Tech outscored the Coyotes 36-34 in the second half, but the hole was too deep.

Talon Pinckney scored 12 points off the bench to lead the College of Idaho.

Kale Guldseth poured in a game-high 14 points to lead the Orediggers. He was the lone Tech player to reach double figures.

Sadiq Inuwa added six points, while John Chapman scored five.

Next up for the Orediggers is next Saturday’s non-conference game against the Salish Kootenai College in Pablo.
