Slow start sinks Butte High boys

MISSOULA — Missoula Big Sky opened the game with a 15-2 run, and Butte High couldn’t recover in a 63-38 non-conference boys’ basketball loss Thursday night.

Post plaer Colin Bingham scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Eagles, who improved to 2-2. Brad Wakai added 16 points in the win.

Peter Granger scored all of his team-leading 11 points in the first half for the Bulldogs who fell to 1-3 in their last action before the holiday break.

Dallas Cook, who grabbed eight rebounds, and Brian Smith each scored seven points. Butte High also got four points from Colton Billtean, three from Killian O’Leary, two from Dylan Cook and Chanse Kremer and one from Trey Hoagland and Cory Farstveet. Sam Maloney also contributed for the Bulldogs.

Butte High’s next game is Jan. 3 at home against Missoula Hellgate.
