Slow start sinks Butte girls at Helena Capital

HELENA — Helena Capital’s girls’ basketball team outscored Butte High 26-6 in the first half Friday night, as the Bruins went on to beat the Bulldogs 50-23 in a non-conference game.

The win completed the season sweep of the young Bulldogs, who fell to 0-8.

Tjaden Pallister had 15 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Class AA defending champion Bruins, who improved to 3-5 on the season. Aubry McMaster added eight points in the win while Savanna Bignell tossed in seven points to go along with five assists.

Freshman Ally Cleverly’s eight points paced the Bulldogs. Butte High also got six points from Brittney Tierney, three from Madi Yost and two apiece from Camille McEwen, Sam Krzan and Riley Duffy.

Butte High will be at home next week to take on Billings Skyview and Billings West.
